DESIGN STORY:

Axis is a trolley whose design language is not defined by its portability or by the typical visual and physical lightness of carts, but instead is a robust piece of furniture that happens to have wheels and therefore can stand or be moved around if desired. Because actually, how often are trolleys moved around? The truth is that they normally spend most of their lives still, possibly in the same place, so why condition their design and construction so vastly, when they are mainly regular pieces of furniture, and occasionally rolling elements.

Playing with asymmetry, the trolley explores within the space between permeability and concealment, resulting in an architectural and minimal composition with understated details that reveal themselves upon close inspection. Axis is a calm and carefully crafted design made entirely in solid oak; a statement piece with a timeless essence that showcases the warmth of wood through its compelling expression.

The oak wood is coated with a clear lacquer to protect and enhance its qualities. Lacquer creates a hard, durable surface resistant to scratches, dust, and dirt.

LACQUERED WOOD CARE:

Wood is a natural material, and each piece is unique, with subtle changes occurring over time due to exposure to sunlight, humidity, and temperature. These environmental factors can cause variations in color, grain, and even small splits or cracks. Such natural movements do not compromise the product. They are natural movements and a normal part of the material’s ageing process.

For daily care it is recommended to clean the surface with a soft cloth wrung in a mild solution of lukewarm soap water. Always follow the wood grains and always dry with a soft dry cloth immediately after cleaning. Avoid use of abrasive cleaning agents and aggressive cleaning detergents as this will damage the surface of the lacquered wood. Always protect the surface against heat, damp, and colored objects. Never place furniture directly up against radiators or heaters. Red wine, coffee, and other strongly colored fluids can leave a mark if you leave them on the tabletop and do not remove them right after a spill. Protect your furniture from the sun to avoid sun bleaching. We do not recommending re-lacquering. Repair of serious damage should always be carried out by a professional.
