COLONNA BOOKENDS

THE BEAUTY OF IMPERFECTION
Colonna is a project that aims to highlight the value and the beauty of imperfection, which makes for more soulful and unique objects. Colonna is a set of two bookends made in travertine. They are two cylindrical volumes whose upper side has been left raw, showing the real texture of the unpolished natural stone, as if an entire column had been split in two. These objects evoke a small story about ancient ruins, vestiges of a bygone culture to be found among the literature of books.

MATERIAL RELICS
Their upper surface is left rough, raw and imperfect. As sort of relics, these objects put into value the beauty of imperfection and highlight the richness of the stone’s natural materiality. Due to the way they are designed and the characteristics of the material, each object will be unique and have its own singularities, which is an essential part of their value and beauty.

UNIQUE SCULPTURES
These objects can hold a group of books beside them, can be used as paperweights, or can stand on their own, as they have the essence of a small sculpture within themselves.
