A SINGLE ELEMENT

The Distinct side and coffee tables came about as an exploration of how to build more elaborate outlines based on one single element: the geometrical plane. Initially envisioned to be built in acrylic stone, it was the desire to work with this material, which is available in boards of a standard thickness, what became the starting point of the project.

NEOPLASTICISM IS BACK

Showcasing a clear neoplastic inspiration, it was originally made in acrylic stone, which is a mineral and acrylic resin composite material, non-porous, non-absorbent, highly durable and eco-friendly. Acrylic stone is commonly employed in the manufacture of kitchen and bathroom countertops, so in this case the material's use is reinvented in a completely new context. Contrasting with the precision and simplicity of its configuration, the richness and abundance of colours and textures help emphasise the composition and its different parts.

THE SUBTLE VERSIONS

A more subtle version in travertine was later added to the Distinct family and well as a coffee table size, in which the natural grains and veins of the stone take the center stage. Further on, a dark brown travertine version was added to the family.
