A PLACE TO RELAX
The initial idea behind the Bay Sofa was to create a laid-back, comfortable sofa with a welcoming feeling. This sofa represents a calm and peaceful place to relax, gather strength and find inspiration.
THE LIMITS OF THE SOFA ARE BLURRED
Bay’s most distinctive feature is how the lower frame becomes a side table, making the sofa blur its limits, open up and expand, becoming a different piece of furniture that interacts with the space around it and the rest of the room in a new, more interesting way.
SCANDINAVIAN MEETS MEDITERRANEAN
When designing the sofa, I took inspiration from the traditional white stucco architecture from the Mediterranean seaside and its soft shapes and laid-back spirit. I wanted to convey the feeling of an indoor-outdoor lounge while maintaining a Scandinavian, pure and minimalist essence. This Scandinavian-Mediterranean duality is represented through the double language formed by the lower main structure and the more curved and organic seat and backrest cushions.
